eBay Results Week 45, 2025

There has definitely been a dip in amount sold and profit made in week 45 compared to week 44.

If you remember, I had a pretty good week last week (week 44), and I was hoping for sales to keep growing this week, but alas, it was not to be.

The graph below shows my sales and profit (after fees & tax) pretty clearly.

How Much I Made

As you can see, I made $108.64 in sales, which equated to $31.62 in profit (this is after fees, shipping costs, and 25% for tax all deducted).

As you are probably aware, I am really only doing this part-time and most for fun, so while these numbers aren’t great, I’m not going to stave.

What I Sold

The low profit was due to me selling mostly DVD and CDs once again. The only exception was a Friends water bottle (which is also the weirdest thing I have ever bought).

Actually, my wife scoffed at me buying it, but I only bought it for $1, and sold it for $19.95 + shipping for a profit of $11.23!

Wins

One win I had is that I sold something everyday last week. In fact, I have sold something everyday for the last 24 days.

Insight

Even though I have sold an item every day for the last 24 days, most of them have been for CDs or DVDs. I do wonder if eBay selects certain categories to promote more if that’s what you sell well – the sales have increased, but mainly in the physical media category.

Some Stats

Below are some stats, if you are interested in that. These are for the 6 weeks I have been selling with purpose. Dollar amounts are all in Australian dollars.

Avg. Time to List (Days): 4.8
Avg. Time to Sell (Days): 13.6

Avg. Profit/Item: $6.41
Avg. Cost of Goods: $2.50
Avg. Fee: $2.22
Avg. Shipping Cost: $4.33
Avg. Promo Costs: $0.00
Avg. Sell Price: $12.85
Discounts Offered: $5.85

Comparing these numbers to last week, you can see my time to list and sell have increased (Not great, but not terrible at this stage).

Average Profit/Item has increased by almost $1, and my average cost of goods and fees have dropped a little, which is nice. Although, my average sell price also dropped.
